Description :
The organ in Saint Martin church in Auxi le Château was built between 1737 and 1745 by Adrien Carpentier (1698-1768) a pipe organ builder in Arras. Jean-François Penin, a joiner in Frévent, built the case.
Through the centuries several organ builders have repaired the organ which is now classed as an historic monument and is the only remaining testimony to the work of Adrien Carpentier.
Based in Auxi-le-Château, the Early Music Centre aims to promote cultural treasures in rural areas. To do so it works on a wide range of projects all year long:
- Training and workshops in various domains (singing, introduction to storytelling, percussion, etc.)
- Concerts (classical and contemporary), exhibitions, live shows, festivals
- Promoting the region's historical and cultural heritage
